Union City, Tenn.—The heat—and the resulting sweat down the face—was to blame for a three-vehicle accident in Union City Monday that resulted in injury to one driver.
Danny Ladd, age 69, of Martin, told Union City Police that sweat was in his eyes and he could not see clearly, causing him to not stop at the stop sign at S. Ury and E. Reelfoot Ave. Monday afternoon.
Ladd then rammed into the rear of a car driven by Charles Johnson, age 67, of Union City, and then caused Johnson to ram into the pickup truck driven by Robbie White, age 47, of Union city.
Johnson was taken to Baptist Hospital emergency room with possible neck injury and Ladd was cited for following too close.
