Union City, Tenn.—The investigation into the possible homicide of a Union City man last week is continuing while police await autopsy results on the victim.
The body of James Elkins, age 49, was found in his apartment on North Jernigan Drive in Union City on the afternoon of July 14. His body showed signs of blunt force trauma and his death is being investigated as a possible homicide.
Elkins is originally from Paris.
Union City Lt. Andy Gibson told WENK/WTPR that the autopsy has not yet been completed. Elkins’ body was sent to Memphis for the autopsy July 14, but Gibson said it may take a couple more weeks for the results to be ready.
