Union City Death Investigated

 
Union City, Tenn.—Union City Police are investigating what appears to be a homicide which was discovered Thursday afternoon.
The police received a 911 call at 2:05 p.m. reporting an unresponsive male at 103 North Jernigan Drive Apt. 31.
Upon officers arrival they were first informed by Fire Department and EMS personnel that the individual inside was deceased. The deceased individual has been identified as James M Elkins, white male, whose date of birth was June 18, 1968, of that address.
Elkins appeared to have died from some type of blunt force trauma to the head and other areas of the body. Mr. Elkins body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Memphis for autopsy to determine cause of death. This is currently being investigated as a possible homicide. Anyone with knowledge of the circumstances of Mr. Elkins death or anyone who has had contact with him in recent days are encouraged to contact the Union City Police Department at 731-885-1515.
