Hardin County, Tenn.—There have been plenty of developments in the Holly Bobo case while awaiting the trial for Zach Adams, one of the men who is charged with kidnapping, raping and killing Bobo in 2011. Two of the main developments are another request from defense attorneys for a change of venue and the inclusion of a co-defendant on the witness list.
Adams’ trial was delayed once again after his defense attorneys asked for more time to conduct forensic examinations of a gun that TBI investigators and the prosecutors believe is the murder weapon. The gun, a Smith and Wesson long revolver, was found over the Memorial Day holiday.
The trial now will be held September 11, still set in Hardin County and still before Judge Creed McGinley.
Adams’ co-defendant, Jason Autrey, is now on the witness list. Autrey was given immunity from prosecution in the case.
Other men who were given immunity include Victor Dinsmore, Michael Alexander and Jason Kilzer, three men whose names have not come up publicly in the case before. A fifth also was given immunity—Shayne Austin—but he committed suicide in Florida.
In other developments, Adams’ attorneys have asked for another change of venue. They also have asked evidence involving the gun not be brought up in trial. Defense attorneys have also asked that all rape charges against Adams be dropped.
