Union City, Tenn.—A Union City man was arrested following an incident Friday night in which he reportedly was chasing another man with a pipe and threatening him.
Michael Graham Varner, age 48, of 525 S. First St., was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated burglary by Union City Police.
According to the report, Varner was arrested on the street in front of 630 N. First St. He was still carrying the pipe when police arrived. Varner told police that he was chasing after the other man because he put his hands on Varner’s wife and he was “not going to put up with it.”
The other man said Varner was hitting the back of his house with the pipe and trying to get him to come outside. When the other man would not come outside, Varner forced his way through the front door and came into the house screaming threats.
