Mansfield Man Arrested After Crash

Paris, Tenn.—A Mansfield man was arrested for DUI fourth offense after he collided with a car that had broken down on the side of the road and he and his passenger had to be extricated from their vehicle. Both Matthew J. Ruddell, age 34, of 5110 Hwy. 77, and his passenger, Christopher Page, 3100 Old McKenzie Highway, Paris, suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Ruddell’s bond was set at $15,000.
Ruddell was reportedly driving on Mineral Wells Ave. near the Setco Automotive plant and after losing control of his vehicle, collided with a car that was broken down on the side of the road. Ruddell and Page were extricated from the vehicle by Paris Police with assistance from the Paris Fire Department.
The accident happened a little after midnight Saturday and according to Paris Police Investigator Jeramye Whitaker, Ruddell was discharged from Henry County Medical Center around 3:30 a.m. after being examined in the emergency room. Both he and Ruddell were taken to the emergency room for treatment.
The car that was broken down is owned by Michael Lancaster 2280 Van Dyke Rd.
