Buchanan, Tenn.—As reported yesterday, today’s portion of the 2017 Bassmasters High School National Championship has been postponed due to severe thunderstorms expected to move through our area. That means both today’s and Saturday’s competitions will be held on Saturday and it also means that the weigh-in will be moved to Paris Landing State Park instead of downtown Paris.
Bassmaster officials said Kentucky Lake will be off limits to competitors today, with no fishing on tournament waters. The full field will go out at 5:30 a.m. Saturday. A winner will be crowned Saturday.
At the end of Thursday, the Henry County High School Fishing Team of Shawn Burkhart and Gavin Gordon were in second place on the leaderboard.
