Three Cited After Alcohol Compliance Checks

 
Martin, Tenn.—Three people were cited for selling alcohol to underage individuals following an alcohol compliance check in Martin this week.
According to Martin Police Captain Phillip Fuqua, investigators with Martin Police and agents of the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission performed checks of 27 businesses in the city limits of Martin on Wednesday.
The purpose of this was to check that businesses are checking IDs of individuals purchasing alcohol and to ensure that they are not selling alcohol to individuals under the age of 21.
Of the 27 businesses, 3 sold alcohol to an individual under 21
The individuals that sold alcohol are:
– Tiffany Calderon, 19 of Martin
-Mellissa Hassel, 50 of Martin
– Morgan Hopkins, 19 of Trenton
The employees that sold the alcohol were issued citations to appear in Weakley County General Sessions Court and the business representatives will have the incidents brought in front of the Martin Beer Board for further action.
