Camden, Tenn.—Benton County law enforcement officers are still seeking a suspect in two home invasions and have identified the suspect as James P. Hill, age 34, of New Johnsonville. Camden Police last night released a photo of Hill which we have posted on our website and both Facebook pages.
A manhunt for Hill was ongoing through the night and is still underway, involving the Camden Police, Benton County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies and also includes the Tennessee Highway Patrol helicopter.
Another suspect in the home invasions, Dakota Bagget, was earlier taken into custody.
A dispatcher at the Camden Police told WENK/WTPR this morning that there have been no sightings of Hill overnight. Anyone who sees Hill or knows his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
According to the Camden Police, Hill is a white male, 6’2” tall and weighing 225 pounds. He was on foot when last seen.
The manhunt began when Hill ran from a stolen vehicle at the gas station near the Camden Walmart Tuesday. Bagget was a passenger in the vehicle.
Both Hill and Bagget were wanted for two home invasions: one in Buena Vista and the other in Humphreys Co. Both involved elderly victims. In the Buena Vista incident, a 96-year-old woman was attacked and held against her will and was transported to the hospital with injuries. The two reportedly stole her vehicle.
