Samburg, Tenn.—A former Samburg City Recorder who took almost $32,000 in public funds from the city of Samburg has been sentenced.
Mary Swain, who now lives in Union, Missouri, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to judicial diversion and ordered to pay back $31,759 in monthly payments. At the end of six years, if she has met the requirements of her judicial diversion, she can have the whole matter expunged from her record. No jail time will be served.
Swain resigned in 2014 and it was determined by investigators that the thefts began as early as 2012.
