Two Union City men are facing charges in Fulton County after allegedly scamming an elderly woman.
Fulton County Sheriff Robby Woods says Clayton Roberson, 37, of 216 South Division Street, and James Young, 52, of 2661 Ken-Tenn Highway, were both charged Sunday with knowingly exploiting an adult over $300.
Sheriff Woods says the charges stem from an incident that occurred nearly a month ago in Cayce, Kentucky.
The two men had agreed to do some work on the elderly woman’s bathroom and had taken a $750 upfront payment but never returned.
Sheriff Woods says the two had allegedly been going around the area offering to do work for people, typically elderly residents, and receiving pay in advance and not returning.
Both Roberson and Young were arraigned Tuesday in Hickman.
