Paris, Tenn.–A Night of Worship with the Tennessee Men’s Chorale set for 7 p.m. Thursday, January 20 at First Baptist Church in Paris has been postponed due to Director Scott Shepherd ailing with COVID. It will be rescheduled later.
The Tennessee Men’s Chorale is a choir comprised of worship musicians from across Tennessee, most of whom serve as Worship Leaders and Ministers of Music in their respective churches. The makeup of the choir reflects a wide range of ages, as well as styles being utilized in the churches represented by the singers—ranging from energetic contemporary arrangements to classical anthems to a taste of Tennessee gospel accompanied by a complement of bluegrass players. The choir has performed for events across the United States, as well as in international mission settings such Wales, Brazil, and Italy.
The chorale is conducted by Dr. Scott Shepherd of Henry, who serves as Worship and Music Specialist for the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Dr. Shepherd has been conductor and musical director for the group since 2017. The chorale is accompanied by two outstanding keyboard artists: Dr. Dawson Hull, Pastor of Instrumental Worship Arts at Germantown Baptist Church and Zach Young, Pastor of Music and Worship at First Baptist Church, Jackson. The chorale also features a rhythm section and brass quintet.
