Plenty Of Activities Set For CornFest 2017

Union City, Tenn.—The annual CornFest is set to begin Friday in Obion County, with a wealth of activities including concerts, food trucks, dances, a Great American Air Show, contests, Family Day, pageants, the Pride of Obion County luncheon, car show, corn eating and corn shucking, and of course, a corn hole tournament.
The annual event is held from September 15-24 at venues all over Union City and Obion County.
CornFest will kick off Friday, September 15, with the Williams Sausage concert at Discovery Park with concessions, vendors, food trucks and bouncy houses. Free admission beginning at 5:30 p.m. A dance floor will be set up on the DPA Great Lawn.
Saturday, September 16 will bring the pageants at the Capitol Theater and the Great American Air Show at Discovery Park with gates opening at 4 p.m. Admission is free.
Other highlights through the week: the Pride of Obion County Luncheon will be held at noon Wednesday at Center Point Business on S. Home St. The annual event highlights outstanding leaders and local heroes. Tickets available at Obion County Library for $15.
The Family Day in the Park will be held Saturday at Kiwanis Park, with vendors, artists, craftspeople and more. Also held that morning is Pets in the Park, with numerous categories for prizes. The pet show begins in the park at 9 a.m. $5 per entry.
Also Saturday is a J’Cette Disc Golf tournament at 8 a.m. at Graham Park, cake walks all day in Kiwanis Park, a Creative Chair Silent Auction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., pumpkin painting, tractor pedal races, train rides, car show beginning in the morning, with corn eating and corn shucking, bed races, and the corn hole tournament in the afternoon.
