Train Derailment Reconstruction Efforts Continue

Hickman, Ky.–Train Derailment Recovery Update from the Hickman County Office of Emergency Management:
CN Railroad and the Hickman County Office of Emergency Management continue to work diligently together, and we are grateful for the unified command that has been established throughout this incident.
At this time, CN contractors are continuing reconstruction efforts on both the railroad track and the railroad bridge. As a result, much of the heavy equipment used by recovery contractors is being demobilized from the area.
As the need for contractors decreases, we are hopeful that U.S. Highway 51 can be reopened at some point today.
We would like to thank the public for their patience during this large-scale incident. We also extend our appreciation to all emergency service partners from Hickman County and across the region, as well as the contractors and CN Railroad personnel who have assisted throughout the response and recovery efforts.
Our staff will continue working alongside CN Railroad officials until all recovery and restoration operations are complete.
