Donations, Volunteers, Flowers Brighten Downtown Paris

Paris, Tenn.–It does take a village and you’ll find evidence of that in downtown Paris.
The donated hanging baskets on the downtown light poles are now filled with color, thanks to Lowe’s donation of flowers and ferns. A combination of volunteers and Paris Public Works employees planted and hung the baskets.
Interim Director of the Downtown Paris Association Jennifer Morris said, “First, we must thank the Athena Delphian club for donating these beautiful hanging planters. They made the donation in spring last year in memory of Cynthia Tubbs. This is such a beautiful addition to our lovely downtown.
“We must also thank Lowe’s for donating ALL of the flowers and ferns that have been placed in the baskets. This is totally amazing and such a generous donation. Tony Wheatley, Quincy Gainer and Cameron Hernandez loaded us up as we headed downtown!
“We so appreciate the partnerships we have gained over the years from people and businesses outside of our downtown that want to help make it beautiful and inviting to those that live in our community and those that visit.”
Adam and AnDru of Public Works assisted Morris, Mayor Kathy Ray and her husband, Larry, in planting the baskets.
Morris said, “A big thanks to Andru, Jerrett, and Luther with Public Works who hung the baskets and to Adam with Paris Public Works who waters the baskets every week to keep them growing and thriving.”
