Hazel, Ky.–A third person from Buchanan has been arrested in connection to a burglary at a Hazel convenience store in February.
The second arrest –of Dakota Brown, age 19–was made May 5, with the third arrest–of Austin Richardson, age 18–was made May 6.
The arrests are in connection to the burgary at the Check Mart in Hazel.
Both Brown and Richardson are charged with third-degree burglary and criminal mischief second-degree.
The burglary occured February 8 and Calloway County deputies responded to an alarm at Check Mart at 200 Main St in Hazel. Subjects were captured on camera forcing entry into gas station and removing cash, vape pens and other items.
Deputies were aware that the Henry County Sheriff’s Office also had a similar burglary. Working together, information was gathered, and multiple individuals were suspected of both break ins.
On Mar 14, 2023 the first of the suspects was arrested on a warrant and lodged at the Calloway County Jail. Kelly Richardson, age 23, also of Buchanan, was charged with third-degree burglary.
