Ricky Parnell

Mr. Ricky Parnell, 65, of South Fulton, passed away 1:57 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Marcus McClure will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Manuel Cemetery at Walnut Log.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be James Buckingham, James Bridges, Ricky Richards, Jim Williams, Chaka Burgess, Bryson Brooks, Jeff Johnson and Daniel Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Armour and Marty Higgs.
Ricky was born June 16, 1957, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, son of the late Lewis Donald Parnell and Shelby Jean (Dunn) Parnell Lomax. He retired as the Fulton County Jailer in Hickman after many years. He was also a member of Walnut Grove Church in South Fulton and he was loved by his grandchildren who called him “Granddaddy”.
He is survived by one son Nick Parnell (BreeAnna) of South Fulton; one daughter, Amy Burgess (Chaka) of Paducah, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Aliyah Parnell of Lexington, Kentucky, Bryson Brooks of Paducah, Kentucky, Brady Parnell and Caleb Parnell both of the McConnell community near South Fulton and Jayden Watson of South Fulton; three sisters, Lisa Cheramie (Shane) of Alabama, J.J. Richards (Ricky) of Walnut Log and Chasity Warner (Jared) of Hickman, Kentucky; and several nieces and newphews.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Randy Parnell.
