Garvin Dale Flood

Garvin Dale Flood, 79, of Paris, Tennessee, died Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at The Farms at Puryear in Puryear, Tennessee. 

Dale was born Thursday, November 4, 1943, in Paris, Tennessee, to the late Garvin Tolbert Flood and the late Jewell Sunshine Collins Flood. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister: Anna L. Vaughn; and two brothers: Ricky Flood and Randy Flood.

He retired after many years as a heavy equipment operator.  Dale loved fishing, being outdoors, and riding around looking at God’s creation.  He was a U.S. Army veteran and was Baptist by belief.

He is survived by his son: Michael Flood, of Paragould, Arkansas; his stepdaughter: Miriam (Dwayne) Thomas, of Cottage Grove, Tennessee; one brother: Ronnie (Cheryl) Flood, of Paris; six grandchildren: Michaela (Eddie) Ivy, Jaylyn Flood, Paige Thomas, Elizabeth Thomas, Megan Thomas, and Matthew Thomas; and one great-grandchild: Bellamy Ivy.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Cemetery in Paris, Tennessee, with Randy Stephens officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Vaughn, Mitch Taylor, Jon Mark Dudenhofer, Jonathan Flood, Blake Shobe, and Robert Aycock.

Burial will follow the graveside service in Memorial Cemetery.
