Carolyn Sue Phippen

Mrs. Carolyn Sue Phippen, 84, of Dover, Tennessee, was called home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Diversicare of Dover with her devoted son by her side.

She was born Friday, August 12, 1938, in Stewart County, Tennessee, the beloved daughter of the late Boyd and Lucy Wallace Cunningham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Blanks “Buddy” Phippen; brother: Michael Cunningham and sister: Faye Greenhill.

Sue was a retired title clerk for Gary Mathews Motors of Clarksville, Tennessee. She loved her Lord and was a member of First Christian Church of Dover where she served faithfully. Sue enjoyed having her family together and sharing precious memories. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and loyal friend to many.

Those left behind to cherish her memory: son: Samuel Phippen (Nawanna), of Dover, Tennessee; brothers: Jerry Cunningham (Janie), of Dover, Tennessee; Gerald Cunningham (Beth), of Benton, Kentucky; sisters: Melinda Thompson (Gary), Cadiz, Kentucky; Paulette Allen (Robert), of Indian Mound, Tennessee, Brenda Hanley, of Medford, Massachusetts; grandson: Blane Phippen (Kelsey); great-grandchildren: Burklee and Annistyn Phippen, and one great-grandson on the way.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Anglin Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Mitchell Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens.
