Bobby G. Thompson

Bobby G. Thompson, 85, of Paris, Tennessee, died Monday, October 31, 2022, at his residence.

He was born Monday, March 1, 1937, in Puryear, Tennessee, to the late Luther Thompson and the late Nellie Wilson Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four sisters: Robbie Lowe, Lottie Vaughn, Sue Ellison, and Margie Daugherty; and four brothers: Edward Thompson, Jesse Thompson, Max Thompson, and Pat Thompson.

He retired after several years as a production supervisor for Campbell-Rhea.  He enjoyed toy trains, bicycles, and gardening when his health allowed him.  Bobby belonged to the Paris Masonic Lodge where he was a Past Master 50-year member.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of McDavid Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by one daughter: Ginger (Stacey) Cox, of Paris; two sons: Glen (Betty) Thompson, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and Gary (Ruthye) Thompson, of Athens, Tennessee; six grandchildren: Bonnie Thompson, Jeremy Thompson, Andy Thompson, Hailey Thompson, Beck Cox, and Brady Cox; two twin great-grandchildren, Parker and Ella Thompson; and his former spouse: Joan Thompson, of Paris.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.  Visitation will be Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Glen Thompson officiating.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery in Paris, Tennessee.
