Dover, Tenn.–The Stewart County Sheriff’s Office continues to keep inmates busy and give back to the community at the same time.

The last two weeks inmates have been working on building bird houses for Mossy Oak Properties for Conservation Day which was Saturday September 24th.

Along with Sheriff Frankie Gray, inmates and deputies as well as National Wild Turkey Federation members cleaned up trash at recreational areas as well as planting trees and erecting some of the bird houses the inmates built.

The Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the LBL Longbeards National Wild Turkey Chapter of Dover and Mossy Oak Properties to do this. The LBL Longbeards Chapter furnished all the building supplies for the birdhouses and the inmates supplied the labor.

Approximately 25 of the birdhouses built were given away to the public.
