Paris, Tenn.–The Paris-Henry County Animal Shelter staff has opened a pantry which contains dog food, cat food and supplies for the pets of people in need. Ricky Anderson of the Animal Shelter said, “We’re hoping the community gets involved and helps keep it stocked.”

As is the procedure with the other food pantries that have opened in Henry County, the public is encouraged to use what they need and leave items in the pantry when they can.

It currently is well-stocked with a variety of pet items, such as bags of cat and dog food, canned food, bowls and other items.

The pet pantry is located on the outside of the Animal Shelter at 445 Recycling Drive in Paris (behind Abbott’s).

Anderson thanked those who helped build and donated to it so that it could be opened, including shelter staff, Tayloe-Hancock Glass, Randy McCarty and Dylan Smothers.

“It’s on the outside so you can get access anytime,” he said. “Take what you need and leave what you can. This is a great opportunity for community to get involved.”
