Shirley Fay Blaski

Shirley Fay Blaski, 84, of Buchanan, Tennessee, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at her residence.

Shirley was born Sunday, November 7, 1937, to the late James Howard Hinson and the late Lucille A. DePriest Hinson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one daughter: Michelle Blaski Young; and her former husband: Jerry Blaski.

She retired from Dana Corporation after many years as an auditor.  Shirley was a U.S. Army veteran where she served as a nurse.  She loved her cats and sitting on the porch watching her hummingbirds.  She was a member of Buchanan Community Church.

She is survived by one daughter: Yvonne Powers, of Buchanan, Tennessee; one son: Jody (Jolie) Blaski, of Resaca, Georgia; one sister: Betty (Autry) Robinson, of Paris; one brother: Garry (Bettye) Hinson, of Dover, Tennessee; nine grandchildren: Shane Blaski, Amanda (Tre) Chapman, Glenn McAvoy, Christopher Young, Haley Blaski, Hannah Blaski, Maurice Powers, Marcie Burkhart, and Marquita Roberson; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.  Visitation will be Monday, August 1, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Schaefer, Tre Chapman, Autry Robinson, John McNutt, Jason Petko, and Wesley Chapman.  Named as honorary pallbearers are Jaxon Blaski and Jacob Schaefer.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Buchanan, Tennessee.
