Eleven Henry Co. Schools Teachers Granted Tenure

Puryear, Tenn.–Eleven Henry County School System teachers were recognized at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Henry County Schools board for being granted tenure. The meeting was held at Harrelson School in Puryear.
To be eligible for tenure, a teacher must be employed for 45 months in a 5 year period and earn a 4 or 5 observation score in the last two years of employment. The Board thanked the teachers for their dedication to the teaching profession.

In other business, the board approved a May 3 district professional day. Upon recommendation of Director of Schools Dr. Leah Watkins, the board approved the school calendar revision to allow the schools to be used as polling places at the primary election that day.
