10-Year-Old Raises $1,000 For Animal Shelter Instead Of Birthday Gifts

Paris, Tenn.–Kane Price and his good heart have been busy again this year and the animals at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Animal Shelter are the better for it. For the second year in a row, Kane’s birthday wish has been for people to donate items for the local shelters rather than give him presents.

Kane is a 10-year-old 4th grader at Lakewood School and last year he raised $500 for the Paris-Henry County Animal Shelter in Paris. This year, he doubled that amount, raising $1,000 for the county animal shelter on Jones Bend Rd.

With the good turnout and all the donated items he received last year for the shelter, he decided to do it again this year. Last year, due to COVID, the family held at drive-through birthday party parade for him and people dropped off items for the shelter.

This year, he was able to hold a real birthday party and people brought items to donate for the animals instead of gifts.

His mother, Amber Hill said, “He has a very big heart”. We would have to agree.
