Paris, Tenn.–Big announcement from the city of Paris: the Splash Pad will be open for the season beginning Friday, April 23.

Paris Parks and Recreation Director Tony Lawrence said, “We’ve been hoping we could open the Splash Pad during Fish Fry week and that’s what is going to be happening. We’ll be opening Fish Fry parade day.”

It will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, weather permitting. “If it’s warm enough, it will be open,” Lawrence said, “and we look forward to seeing the little ones enjoying the Splash Pad again.”

The official season opening of the Splash Pad will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, along with a free Concert in the Park. Performers will be Ethan Torsak and the James Greer Band.

The first 100 people who arrive for the official kick-off May 29 will receive free draw-string bags. City Administrative Assistant Jessica Bannister and Lawrence also conducted a drawing for the winner of six season passes to the Splash Pad. 1000 people put their names in the drawing and the winner is Teri Knott Conklin. Conklin can go to the Paris Civic Center any time to claim the free passes.
