Martin, Tenn.–A woman is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries and another woman is in custody after a shooting in Martin Wednesday afternoon.
Assistant Police Chief Phillip Fuqua said the incident occurred around 4 p.m. at 200 North Lindell St.
Upon arrival, officers determined that a physical altercation between three femals had escalated and shots were fired in the parking lot. During the incident, one female was shot with a handgun.
Fuqua said the victim was transported by EMS to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and the weapon recovered.
The investigation continues and more information will be released later, Fuqua said.
