Paris, Tenn.–It’s a small world, indeed.

A rock from Paris, Tennessee made it all the way to Texas and was found by a family whose grandparents live in Paris.

That’s not something that happens everyday.

A Paris Rocks! campaign was started a few years ago to encourage people to paint rocks and hide them locally for people to find. But this is the first time anyone has reported finding one in a different state.

Linda Massa of Paris said her daughter and family were hiking at Lake Arrowhead State Park in Texas and found the rock. Her daughter Allison Kami and her family (her husband Taylor, daughter Evie, age 9; and son Abram, age 5) live in Denton, Texas, and they have a goal of hiking the state parks in Texas on a weekly basis.

Massa said, “Evie actually found the painted rock and recognized Paris, Tennessee as the place where we, her grandparents, live. She excitedly showed the beautiful painting and the back of the rock and to her parents.”

The parents were reportedly “even more excited about the rock than even Evie was! Evie replaced the rock, painted side up, so that some other lucky hiker can enjoy discovering it. What a small world!”
