Cadiz, Ky.–Detectives with Kentucky State Police, Mayfield Post, have made an arrest regarding the homicide and arson investigation that occurred on September 16, 2020 at a residence on Will Jackson Road in Trigg County.
On Thursday, Detectives arrested Jonathan R. McCoy, age 42 of Cadiz, Kentucky for the brutal murder of Thelma N. Barnett, commonly known as Mrs. Ilene, and the arson of her residence.
McCoy was charged with Kidnapping (Victim Death) (Class A Felony), Murder (Class A Felony), Arson 2nd Degree (Class B Felony), Tampering with Physical Evidence (Class D Felony) and Abuse of Corpse (Class D Felony). He was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
Detectives are also searching for Keisha D. Stewart, age 29 of Cadiz, Kentucky. Stewart is wanted for questioning in this investigation and may be in the Cadiz or Hopkinsville area.
