Springville, Tenn.–A Springville home was destroyed by fire Friday night.

Paris Landing Volunteer Fire Department Chief Reggie Coles said the resident is being assisted by the Red Cross, Henry County Sheriff’s Office and her neighbors.

The fire department and sheriff’s office was called to 480 Supreme Drive in Springville at 9:30 p.m. on a report of a structure fire.

Coles said arriving units found a mobile home fully engufed in flames.  The owner, Mrs. Dale Hagen stated  she heard a popping sound on her back porch where she was raising chickens.  When she went to the porch she found her porch in flames.  She was unable to save any of the chickens.

A heat lamp is the suspected cause.

Although the fire was extinguished, the home was ruled a total loss.  Damage is estimated at 35,000.00.  Mrs. Hagen stated that she has no insurance and no family.  She is being assisted by the Red Cross, Henry County Sheriff’s office and her neighbors.

Four trucks and 9 firefighters were on the scene for 2 hours.
