Stewart Co. Confirms 1st COVID-19 Case

covid-test-positive

Dover, Tenn.–The Tennessee Health Department has confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Stewart County.

As of April 3, this is the only case of COVID-19 in Stewart County.

Mayor Robin Brandon said, “The health department and local doctor’s offices will continue to test people who have the symptoms of COVID-19. If you feel sick, call the doctor’s office prior to arriving at the testing area.”

Citizens should continue to practice social distancing and good hygiene habits, such as frequently washing hands, staying home if you are sick, avoiding contact with people who are sick, and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

Mayor Brandon’s Executive Order is still in place, which urges Stewart Countians to stay at home unless to conduct essential business.

EMA asks that citizens trust that the departments will give out information when it is necessary.
