Animal Shelter To Close, Landfill To Operate On Reduced Hours

landfill

Paris, Tenn.–Yesterday Governor Lee issued a ‘Stay at Home’ order for all Tennesseans unless they are engaging in essential activity.

In order to comply with this order the Paris-Henry County Animal Shelter on Recycling Drive will be closed to the public effective immediately.

Additionally, the Landfill will only be open to the public from 8 am until 11 am on Monday and Wednesday only.

Paris City Manager Kim Foster said, “We have experienced a large number of people using the landfill.  In order to comply with the Governor’s order we ask that you refrain from using the landfill at this time when possible.”

Contractors (considered essential) will still be serviced using the normal operating hours. The Landfill will be closed to everyone on Saturday.

All of these closures and abbreviated hours will be effective until further notice.
