Union City, Tenn.–Union City Energy Authority officials announced this morning it will temporarily waive both late payment penalties and re-connection fees during business hours.

In the announcement, Union City Energy CEO said the company “recognizes the economic uncertainty COVID-19 presents to many of our customers. We are following the guidelines provided by the Tennessee Valley Authority to keep each of us and our community safe.”

To better serve customers during this time, he said, Union City Energy Authority will temporarily waive both late payment penalties and re-connection fees (during business hours). At this time the drive thru remains open to take payments or set up service. You may also make payments by going to www.unioncityenergy.com or calling 1.866.578.7549.

“We understand the financial hardship COVID-19 may create for many families. During these difficult times, we want our customers to know there are methods available to help them pay utility bills. If you think you will have trouble paying your upcoming bill, please contact the Union City Energy Authority at 731-885-9212 to discuss payment arrangements. Our staff will work with members facing disconnection on a case-by-case basis,” Bailey said.
