The popular Hematite Lake Day Use Area has been closed until further notice, according to Land Between The Lakes officials.
The area was closed due to recent congestion at the popular day use area and due to concerns of COVID-19. Most other hiking and biking trails in LBL remain open. For more information, please contact Land Between The Lakes at (270) 883-1559.
The site features a trail that circles the lake, waterfall and picnic area and is located adjacent to the Woodlands Nature Center.
It had become congested with persons and families in the past week as other parks and recreation areas have closed.
