UTM Mail Services COVID-19 Test Negative

utm-2

Martin, Tenn.–A person has tested negative for COVID-19 following the announcement Wednesday of a possible case in UT Martin Mail Services located in Clement Hall. The area was closed March 25 when a possible COVID-19 infection became known. With this news, Mail Services resumes operation Friday in Clement Hall.

Mail Services employees were asked to remain at home until test results for the virus were available. In addition, the area was cleaned by the university’s Physical Plant following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention standards and using CDC-approved disinfectant.

Even with this good outcome, the UT Martin community should continue to be vigilant with handwashing and social distancing. Telecommuting for employees is strongly encouraged where possible and practical. Anyone with infection concerns should call his or her health-care provider to discuss symptoms and requirements for monitoring.
