World’s Biggest Fish Fry Cancelled

Paris, Tenn.–In light of the announcement yesterday by Governor Lee of schools remaining closed until April 24, 2020 the World’s Biggest Fish Fry Board of Directors have decided that it is in the best interest of the citizens of Paris and Henry County that Fish Fry’s remaining events be cancelled.

The Fish Fry is historically set for the last full week of April and the 67th annual event was scheduled for April 18-25. The Fish Fry pageants were already held in January.

This is the first year that the event has been cancelled, although in the past weather has affected the grand parade.

In an announcement this afternoon, the executive board said, “We feel that the safety and the ease of mind of the citizens are more important than having the event. We appreciate the support we get each year from this community, across our great state of Tennessee and our Country. We look forward to the 68th Annual World’s Biggest Fish Fry in April 2021. Be safe and may God Bless each of you and our great Country.”

The Executive Board members are Chris Martin, Tim Wirgau, Monte Starks, Dwayne Baldwin, Albert Vassar, Josh Taylor, Lisa Dicus & Loria Plunk.
