Dover, Tenn.–An Illinois man was arrested for indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and drunkenness following an incident at the Stewart Co. Courthouse Tuesday.

According to a press release issued by the Stewart Co. Sheriff’s Office, deputies at the courthouse observed Christopher Paul McCarthy acting disorderly, beating on the doors and windows at the entrance as well as using profanity, vulgar hand gestures and making threats.

Deputy Angela Shepherd who was working security at the door and Deputy Lee Miller arrested McCarthy and Sheriff Frankie Gray commended the deputies “for their quick and professional actions in diffusing this situation before any citizen or the subject was injured”
