Twin Cities Ready To "Go Bananas" At 57th Annual Banana Festival

South Fulton, Tenn.–The Twin Cities of South Fulton, Tenn., and Fulton, Ky., will be going bananas starting Saturday.
It’s time for the 57th annual Banana Festival which will run from September 14-21. It will kick off Saturday with a variety of events, including Kids’ Day at the Fulton Airport, a Banana Scramble at the Country Club and the Banana Ball and Top Banana Reception.
Through the week, there will be plenty of activities to entertain everyone on both sides of the state line, with the highlight being the free concert by the band Exile set for 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.
Other events through the week will include the Tyson Community Meal on Wednesday and the Banana Pudding Cook-off; Fulton’s Got Talent on Thursday along with street vendors and sidewalk sales, street dances, musical entertainment and more every day.
The schedule for this Saturday, September 14 is: 8 a.m. Turkey Shoot at the Fulton PD range; 10-4 drop off photo entries at the Pontotoc Building; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids Day at the Fulton Airport; noon, Banana Scramble at the Fulton Country Club; 7 p.m. Banana Ball and Top Banana Reception with The Bonfire Orchestra.
