Free Airplane Rides For Youth Offered At Henry Co. Airport Saturday

Paris, TN – Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 734 will be offering FREE airplane rides to area youth ages 8-17 Saturday, September 14 at the Paris-Henry County Airport.  The kids will tour Paris from the sky.  These free flights are part of the EAA’s Young Eagles program designed to interest young people in aviation.

Volunteer pilots of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) have introduced more than two million youth to aviation through free flights since 1992.  The local chapter has flown over 2,000 smiling kids.  The free flights are just the start of what the Young Eagles program offers.  The EAA also has aviation camps, workshops, and scholarships for youngsters interested in aviation.  It all starts with a Young Eagles flight and a big smile.

The Young Eagles rally on September 14 will be at the Paris-Henry County Airport just north of Paris on highway 69 near the 218 intersection.  Registration and flights will be between 9 am and 1 pm.  Prospective Young Eagles should be from eight through 17 years old and will need a parent or legal guardian to sign the registration form (the adult will not be flying).  Each young person will receive a certificate making them an official Young Eagle.  They will be given a log book of their own with this flight already entered and room for more.  Additional information is available on Chapter 734’s website at www.734.eaachapter.org.
