Paris-Henry Co. Animal Shelter Announces New Spay/Neuter Program

Paris, Tenn.–The Paris Henry County Animal Shelter is announcing a new Spay/Neuter Program. This
program will take effect on July 1, 2019 and will operate as follows:
At the time of adoption the estimated cost to have the animal spayed or neutered will be
added to the adoption fee and paid to the City of Paris. This cost will be based on the type,
weight and sex of the animal.
The adopter will then be responsible for taking the animal to the veterinarian of their
choice to get the spay/neuter procedure done. He/she will have 30 days to complete this
procedure. The City will remit to the veterinarian the amount collected from the adopter at
the time of adoption. Any additional fees charged by the veterinary clinic above the
amount collected by the City at the time of adoption will be the responsibility of the
adopter. The Shelter will have vouchers for discounted spay/neuter rates.
The only time a refund will be considered is if it is determined after adoption that the
animal had a pre-existing condition of which the City was not aware; or if the adopter is
able to get the procedure performed at a lower fee than what was charged at the time of
adoption. If either condition is met the adopter can contact the Paris Henry County Animal
Shelter for refund instructions.
If you have questions concerning the new Spay/Neuter Program you may contact the Paris
Henry County Animal Shelter at 731-642-5024 during regular business hours.
