Sale of Land in Union City Approved for Future Hemp Facility

On Tuesday, the Union City City Council approved the sale of land with the acreage set to become a hemp facility. Union City Mayor Terry Haley posted the details on facebook. According to Hailey, the remaining 375 acres in the Northwest Tennessee Industrial Park will sell for $10,000 per acre or $3.75 million. The hemp facility will contain two greenhouses, the company’s corporate headquarters, a processing facility and two new rail spurs. In addition, Hailey states that there will be between 120-150 full-time employees. Hailey continues by stating that the hemp produced at this location will be used to create fabric and not hemp oil or THC. See Hailey’s complete statement from facebook below.
