Kitchen Equipment Stolen From Old Hops & Barley Building

Union City, Tenn.—Union City Police are investigating the theft of kitchen equipment from the former Hops and Barley building on S. Ury St. The building was destroyed by fire last year and items were still being stored there. Hops and Barley has since reopened at 615 E. Reelfoot Ave.
Stolen was a stainless steel serving unit with cool and heated sections; custom built bar sink; and custom stainless steel vent and hood.
The owner told officers that the items were stolen sometime between Dec. 8 and Dec. 22. He said an employee had driven by the old restaurant building around Dec. 8 and saw three white males in a truck in the parking lot. Officers talked to the employee who said she pulled up beside the subjects and asked what they were doing. They told her they were waiting on a ride. She said they were all wearing ball caps and there was a white van on the lot, too.
