Union City, Tenn.—A Union City man is in the Obion County Jail today on a charge of aggravated assault after he allegedly pulled a gun on someone and threatened to shoot him.
James Collins of 917 S. Second St., was arrested Thursday night after an incident at the intersection of South Second and Jackson Streets. Two men told police that Collins had left their residence and kept passing by the house, then pulled up to talk and at that point pulled out a black pistol, turned it sideways like he was going to hit the victim in the head with it. He then put his finger in the trigger guard and said he would shoot him.
When Collins was apprehended, he told officers he had the gun beside him, that he wasn’t arguing and that the other guy kept coming at him.
